When you connect a bank account or credit card to Wholesail (see how here), you become the "owner" of that payment account.
As a payment account owner, you may use the account to pay invoices or disconnect the account from Wholesail. If your colleagues also use Wholesail, you can also control their ability to use the payment account to pay invoices via Wholesail.
What does it mean to be a payment account admin?
As a payment account admin, you may:
- Use the payment account to pay invoices via Wholesail
- Grant/revoke permission to use the account to/from colleagues who use Wholesail
- Remove the payment account from Wholesail (only a payment account admin may remove the account)
Can I allow a colleague to use the account, too?
Yes! A person who has permission to pay with a payment account may use the account to pay invoices via Wholesail, but they may not remove the account or manage the account's permissions.
How do I change who can pay invoices?
Payment account permissions are displayed after completing a payment in Wholesail. You may even update permissions directly on the payment confirmation screen.
Alternatively, you always access payment account permissions by navigating to Settings > Payments in the Wholesail app. From this screen, click "Permissions" to update payment account permissions.
As shown below, you'll see a window listing all of the people at your company who use Wholesail. Check the box next to the people who should be able to use the payment account to pay invoices via Wholesail, or uncheck the box next to people who should not be able to use the payment account.
By default, only you, the account admin, will have permission to pay invoices with the payment account.
If another colleague should also be able to pay invoices with the payment account, check the box next to her or his email address (firstname.lastname@example.org in the example below).
When you're satisfied with the payment permissions, click "Save permissions".

How does one become a payment account "owner"?
The person who connects an account is that account's owner (the order in which that person signed up for Wholesail is not a factor). A payment account admin can pay with the account and grant/revoke pay permission to/from other others.
For security reasons, no one else (including Wholesail's support team or your seller's team) is able to grant pay permission to a payment account.
