Wholesail puts you in control of how your invoices are paid. If you need to update your autopay settings - like payment method, frequency, or a payment limit - or if you want to stop autopay entirely, you can do so in a few clicks.
1. Check if You Can Edit Your Autopay Plan
Many vendors now allow their customers to edit their autopay plan directly. If that’s the case, you can skip canceling and simply modify your settings.
- Login to your Wholesail account by clicking here.
- Click on Autopay on the left hand side of your page.
- Select Set up autopay.
-
If you see an Edit button next to your autopay plan, click it to update details like:
- Pay with (switch from one bank account or card to another)
- When (update your plan frequency)
- Set a max amount per autopay payment
- Set a fixed date to end autopay
- Schedule autopay to start later
-
Save your changes and agree to any updated terms if prompted.
That’s it! Your autopay plan will continue with the new settings - no need to cancel.
2. Ending & Recreating an Autopay Plan
If you want to cancel autopay altogether, follow these steps:
- Login to your Wholesail account by clicking here.
- Click on Autopay on the left hand side of your page.
- Select Set up autopay.
-
Click ‘End Autopay’
- A confirmation window will appear.
- Click End to finalize.
- Autopay immediately stops, and no further automatic payments will run.
-
(Optional) Create a New Autopay Plan
- If you still want autopay but with new terms (like a different frequency or new payment limit), you can set up a brand-new plan:
- Go to Autopay.
- Click Set up Autopay or Get started now.
- Fill in your payment method, frequency, and any limit or start/end dates.
- Agree to the terms and save.
- If you still want autopay but with new terms (like a different frequency or new payment limit), you can set up a brand-new plan:
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If I end autopay, can I just reactivate it later with the old settings?
A: Typically you’ll need to create a fresh autopay plan with your new or previous preferences. If your vendor allows editing, you can adjust the old plan without ending it.
Q: Will ending autopay affect any invoices currently in progress?
A: Once you end autopay, Wholesail stops automatically paying new invoices. Any open invoices remain unpaid until you pay them manually or set up a new autopay plan.
Q: Do I lose my payment method if I cancel autopay?
A: Canceling autopay only stops the automated payment schedule. Your saved bank account or credit card remains on file unless you remove it in Settings → Payment accounts.
Q: How do I manage autopay for multiple vendors?
A: Autopay is typically vendor-specific. You can edit or end autopay for each vendor individually.
