If I have provided a vendor with authorization to keep my credit card on file in Wholesail, what actions can the vendor take?
By providing your vendor permission to keep your card on file, they have authorization to charge your credit card for open invoices in the future, and set up Autopay on your behalf. You can contact your vendor to revoke authorization at any time.
What happens when a vendor charges my card?
You’ll receive the standard Wholesail payment confirmation email showing which invoices were paid or credits were applied. A badge in the email indicates that the payment was a "Vendor charge".
If I put a credit card on file with a vendor, will I be able to use that card to make payments in Wholesail?
You’ll need to re-enter the card info in the Wholesail Customer Portal. That credit card number will then be saved as a payment method for your future usage.
If a vendor adds my credit card to Wholesail, who will be able to charge the card?
The vendor contact who entered the credit card information and any other vendor admin users on their team will be able to charge your credit card.
How secure is it to have my credit card on file in Wholesail?
All credit card numbers entered into Wholesail are encrypted by our payments provider, Stripe, and then tokenized. This means that your credit card data is not stored in Wholesail nor is the actual credit card number accessible in Wholesail by any Wholesail vendor user.
How can I tell if my vendor has my credit card on file?
Navigate to Settings > Payment accounts in Wholesail. If your vendor has a card on file, it’ll be listed in the “Credit card” section & labeled “…added by vendor”. Contact your vendor if you want to remove a card on file.
