Resolving Accounting Issues
An accounting issue represents a difference between the balance of your customer in Wholesail and your accounting system. Generally this means that a transaction on the customer’s account is either missing in Wholesail or your accounting system.
To identify the open transactions for a customer that is impacting their account balance in NetYield, use the Customer Accounts report.
- Login to your NetYield account.
- Navigate to AR > Customer accounts
- Select the respective Bill to account that has a Accounting Issue tag
- Compare the open transactions for this customer against the open transactions in Wholesail.
How to resolve customer overpayments
Resolving a customer overpayment in NetYield is a three-step process:
- Create a hand invoice in the amount of the overpayment using the cash account the overpaid funds were received into.
- Apply the overpayment to the hand invoice created in step 1. This will reduce the unapplied balance on the payment to balance $0.
- Create a Credit Memo using the same cash account used to create the hand invoice in step 1. This transaction will create an offsetting credit in the appropriate amount that will be usable in Wholesail.
