Wholesail allows you to pay invoices directly via ACH by linking a bank account with our secure partner Plaid. This guide explains how to manually connect your bank using its routing and account numbers.
Wholesail partners with Plaid, an industry leader in secure bank integrations. Your account details are never stored on Wholesail’s servers.

1. Go to Your Payment Accounts
- Login to your Wholesail account by clicking here.
- Navigate to Settings and select the Payment accounts tab.
- Click Add payment account.
2. Choose the “Manual” Option
- You’ll see a popup to add a bank account to your account in Wholesail.
- Select Connect new bank.
- Review and agree to the Terms of Service if prompted.
- You’ll be taken to Plaid to enter your bank details. If you do not wish to share your phone number with Plaid, please select Continue as guest.
- Choose Manual to enter your account information.
3. Enter Your Account Details
- Provide your routing number and account number.
- If asked, select whether it’s a checking or savings account and enter the account holder’s name exactly as it appears on bank statements.
- Plaid will prompt you to authorize a $0.01 deposit to verify this account. Depending on your bank’s capabilities:
- Instant Micro-Deposit: Some banks support near-instant deposits, so you can verify your account right away. You must verify your bank account without closing the Plaid window in order to save your bank account to Wholesail.
- Standard Micro-Deposit (1–2 Days): Other banks require 1–2 business days to display the deposit in your statement. You can close the Plaid window and return to Wholesail in 1-2 business days to verify your bank account.
4. Watch for the Micro-Deposit to Verify Your Account
Depending on your bank’s capabilities:

Instant Micro-Deposit: Some banks support near-instant deposits, so you can verify your account right away.
- With your Plaid window already open, open a new window or tab on your computer and navigate to your bank's website. If you close the Plaid window, the instant micro-deposit from Plaid will be invalid and you must restart adding your bank account to Wholesail.
- Login to your bank portal and locate the instant micro-deposit from Wholesail.
- Enter the 3-letter code shown in the deposit description (e.g., “ABC Deposit from Wholesail”).
- You have a 3 attempts to get it right, so please double-check before submitting.
- If you run out of attempts, remove the account and add it again to start fresh.

Standard Micro-Deposit (1–2 Days): Other banks require 1–2 business days to display the deposit in your statement.
- Once you see the $0.01 deposit in your bank statement, login to your Wholesail account by clicking here and return to Settings → Payment accounts.
- Find your unverified account and click Verify.
- Enter the 3-letter code shown in the deposit description (e.g., “ABC Deposit from Wholesail”).
- You have a 3 attempts to get it right, so please double-check before submitting.
- If you run out of attempts, remove the account and add it again to start fresh.
If your account remains unverified after 2 days, we’ll send you a reminder email.
5. All Set!
After entering the correct code, your account is verified and ready to use. You can now pay invoices directly from this account.
Did you know? You can optionally authorize your bank account for vendor use.

- Handle ad-hoc payments on your behalf.
- Set up autopay or recurring charges without you logging in each time.

Q: Why do some banks offer an instant micro-deposit while others take 1–2 days?
A: Plaid, our bank-linking partner, supports different networks (like FedNow or real-time payments). If your bank participates in these networks, you’ll see an instant deposit. Otherwise, you’ll receive a deposit in 1–2 business days.
Q: What if I enter the code incorrectly and get locked out?
A: Remove the unverified bank account from Wholesail, re-add it, and follow the steps again.
Q: I never received a deposit.
A: Verify you used the correct routing and account numbers. If 2 business days pass without seeing a deposit, email our support team.
Q: Is my bank information secure?
A: Yes—Wholesail uses Plaid, which implements industry-leading encryption and security standards.
